Founded in the fall of 2009, the Alberta Firefighters Pipe Band was originally established to assist the Calgary Fire Department Pipes & Drums and other Alberta fire department pipe bands with the large number of events and requests they were receiving.

In addition to supporting Alberta’s other fire service pipe bands, the Alberta Firefighters Pipe Band has taken on a life of its own. It now participates as a fully independent band in dozens of parades, fire department functions, charity events and pipe band competitions across Alberta. Its membership has included pipers and drummers as far away as Red Deer and Lethbridge.
